Hemotek Medical Inc. is a medical device research firm founded by biomedical engineers and medical doctors to develop innovative solutions for dialysis delivery. Hemotek’s extended team is comprised of design and development firms, contract manufacturing organizations, clinical research organizations, and additional consultants, all of which are world class.

Charles Ventura

Mr. Ventura is a co-founder and serves as the Chief Executive Officer. He has extensive product development, commercialization, and business management experience in the Medical Device industry. Chuck is a seasoned Medical Device leader with successful experience in Commercialization, R&D, Project Management, and Manufacturing Support. He also has start up experience in business development and investment management. He is a natural problem solver who excels in seeing the big picture and pulling together large projects with many ambiguous requirements.  Chuck received his Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Chuck is responsible for the strategic vision and overall operations, he will also serve as the head of Quality and Regulatory for all of Hemotek’s new product development projects.

Patrick Rousche, PhD

Dr. Rousche is a co-founder and serves as Chief Scientific Officer. He received a B.S in Bioengineering in from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering in from the University of Utah.  Since then, he served as a tenured and award-winning professor of bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, amassing over 15 years of biomedical engineering research and teaching experience in the university environment, focusing on (pre-clinical) implantable devices for the nervous system. He was an active project manager, overseeing clinical, animal, and bench top experimental studies performed by up to 15 undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral fellows at any one time.  He has published multiple scientific journal articles and served on numerous grant review panels, including those for medical device development. He has experience with a variety of in vitro and in vivo technical laboratory measurements and data analysis. Dr. Rousche is responsible for Hemotek’s exploratory lab and in addition, coordinates all day to day activities at Hemotek, interfacing with all research and development, design, engineering and manufacturing concerns.

Peter Tek, MS, DO

Dr. Tek is a co-founder and serves on the board of directors. Peter is a licensed physician in the state of Illinois. He has extensive training in urological surgery. Dr. Tek witnessed a venous needle dislodgement event which led to the development of the V Needle. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  He went on to earn his medical degree from Midwestern University and entered a highly competitive urological surgery training program. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Bioengineering in the Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he works on translational medical devices. Dr. Tek has multiple patent pending technologies and publications. He has extensively worked in medical device development for over 9 years. His unique engineering and medical background serves Hemotek well.
